Interview with Colin Mochrie
January 18th, 2006

Today I had the pleasure of Interviewing Colin Mochrie from the very popular “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?” Listen to the podcast here.
Yes, you did hear it correctly, Colin invited yours truly and the Mrs. of the yours truly to go backstage(w/gifts in hand) to meet the talent. Any ideas/thoughts on what this years gift should be?

Very entertaining; as it should be — quite funny.

Great interview. This year’s gift should be a potato gun. It sounds like Colin could make great use of one while on the road seeing as he wore out the Hulk cards so quickly.

I haven’t listened to the entire interview yet, so I don’t know if you’re talking funny or serious, but off-hand, how about some chiii powder? Or funky decks of cards.
Loved what I’ve heard of the interview so far. Thank you for asking “outside the box” questions. Nice work!

Thanks to Dawn, Matt and Jackie for the comments. I must say, I do enjoy doing an interview. The Mrs-of-the-G thinks one day you will find me being interviewed as the least known interviewer…”He’s talked to Ravi Shankar…Colin Mochrei, Matthew Good….Who will be next.” Stay tuned. I have lined up an interview with Dave Allen, the bassist and producer of the band Gang of Four.

So, what was your gift for him?

Ahhhh, someone paying attention: my gift this years was a deck of magic trick cards. So, imagine if you will Colin, Brad and Greg on tour doing magic tricks. Let me pull this rabbit out of a hat..nuck nuck. When I walked up to meet Colin, I thanked him for the interview and he, without skipping a beat said.”What did’ya bring me”
The show by the way was excellent. A near sell out and I know the Mrs of the G and I walked away with a few more laugh lines then when we entered the place.

He remembered you? That’s so cool! I’m going to ask Colin about the cards if I get the chance next show. Have him show me something. *G*
Congrats!

I also meant to ask, did you get to talk to him while you were still inside, or did you freeze your butt off outside with the rest of us afterwards? Great night, either way!

It was a night where the air was filled with a chill. However, I got to meet the Trio of Funnymen right on the stage about 25 minutes or so after the show. The Mrs. of the G in classic fashion stated;”Well, that sucked!” Drawing smirks and chuckles from all three. I thanked Colin for the interview and he QUICKLY came back with a sharp,”What’d you bring me?”
For a moment, we WERE the show.
